Quarto disco in studio per la band friulana: ottimi pezzi reggae seguiti dalle corrispondenti e spiritate versioni dub.

La Alambic Conspiracy di Paolo Baldini - dal 2006 bassista degli Africa Unite - sta rapidamente diventando una realtà davvero rilevante nel panorama della musica italiana in levare. Questa nuova uscita dell’etichetta riguarda l’ultima fatica del B.R. Stylers, gruppo reggae nato nel 2000 - che vede, tra l’altro proprio Baldini al basso. Lo schema scelto per compilare la tracklist obbedisce al classico alternarsi di canzoni e loro versioni dub, come nella migliore tradizione giamaicana anni 70. Le composizioni reggae - dagli arrangiamenti curatissimi - sono valide, sia nell’impeccabile esecuzione del gruppo che nell’interpretazione intensa e sensuale della cantante Michela Grena. Le versioni dub seguono il filone elettronico inglese e regalano interessanti riletture oniriche dei pezzi originali. Ottimo lavoro.

“Questo “Indubstria” è il quarto lavoro e segue “Dubbing From The Earth” del 2005, ottima produzione nella quale la vena electro si faceva sentire forte senza snaturare le originali dinamiche dub. Se Bristol era ovviamente un riferimento, da qualche parte affioravano (più involontarie che cercate, ma fondamentalmente consequenziali) affinità con il nuovo sound proveniente da Londra Sud; ecco quest’aura dubstep sembra farsi più latente nel nuovo parto dei friulani (salvo un’eccezione corposa e ben realizzata come la title-track), e l’attenzione si posa maggiormente sulla forma canzone, su di una scrittura più vicina alle origini della musica giamaicana.” [ more… ]
